The Wrocław Organising Committee (WOC) announced that the Polish production company ATM System will be the host broadcaster of The World Games 2017 in Wroclaw/Poland, 20-30 July 2017. ATM is the largest independent TV producer in Poland. In addition to the basic production, and in cooperation with ATM, the International Sports Broadcasting (IBS) will deliver supplementary services to enhance the production quality to meet the demands of the international market.
IWGA President José Perurena recognized the announcement: "This decision regarding TV production is fundamental to delivering successful World Games for the media. The deal is the first step for international media distribution and marketing contracts with worldwide companies."
The agreement with the ATM System-led consortium consists of TV production of each of the 27 sports on the official programme and the four invitational sports of the multi-sports event. In addition, extended production hours and production standards will be provided on an on demand basis for the International TV stations and federations.
In Poland, the competitions of The World Games 2017 in Wrocław will be transmitted over three channels belonging to Polsat group. Live broadcasting will be available in Polsat Sport, Polsat Sport News and Polsat Open Channel.
UFA Sports will take on the job of the international TV distribution. UFA Sports has been a partner of IWGA in this field since 2012. The German company managed the international distribution on behalf of the IWGA at The World Games 2013 in Cali/Colombia.
The quality of the TV production for TWG 2017 will be the state of the art of international sports productions, ensuring outstanding coverage of the event. The main signal production centre, the International Broadcasting Centre (IBC), will be established in the more than 1,000 square meters of facilities of the ATM group in Bielany Wrocławskie.
