ASICS America is pleased to announce the re-signing of world champion freestyle wrestler and reigning Olympic gold medalist, Jordan Burroughs. Burroughs, 26, who originally signed with ASICS in 2011, will continue to represent the brand for the next 5 years, exclusively wearing ASICS apparel and footwear. Further, ASICS and Burroughs have collaborated on the launch of two new footwear models - the JB EliteTM V2.0 and JB EliteTM TR – both available starting July 1, 2015.

"It is great that we are expanding our relationship with Jordan, who is a champion in every sense of the word," said Kelly O’Rourke, ASICS America athlete manager. "ASICS has been the long-time leader in performance wrestling, and our partnership with Jordan, who consistently dominates his sport on the world stage, is important as we work together to create the very best wrestling and training footwear and apparel on the market. We are thrilled to have Jordan as part of the ASICS family on and off the mat."

Burroughs and ASICS continue their collaboration on creating the best wrestling footwear available with the release of the JB EliteTM V2.0. This second generation wrestling shoe is based on Burroughs’ own specifications for optimal comfort and fit. The JB EliteTM V2.0 features an improved rubber compound Split Sole design with rear and forefoot wrestling-specific "serradial" traction pods for flexibility and traction. The redesigned upper construction features a breathable single layer mesh body. Designed by the ultimate competitor, the integrated lace garage meets regulations for tournament competition.

"I am so proud to continue to represent ASICS, because they are totally committed to making the best gear for athletes – it’s not just about flash, but really making the most technically advanced products so I can compete and train at the level I need to," said Burroughs. "This is an absolutely huge year in my career as I set my sights on making it to Rio. I could not ask for a better partner in this journey."

Off the mat, Burroughs and ASICS know that training is an essential part of achieving your goals. With that in mind, they collaborated on a new training shoe, the JB EliteTM TR. The upper construction features a one-piece breathable mesh. A Flexible midsole and Rearfoot GEL® Cushioning System offers all-around comfort and cushioning, perfect for any wrestling training activity. FLEXION FIT® technology provides form fitting comfort without sacrificing support.

The JB EliteTM V2.0 retails for $80.00 and is available in three color ways. The JB EliteTM TR retails for $90.00 and is available in two different color styles. Both shoes will be available beginning July 1, 2015.

While competing at 74 kilograms, Burroughs earned the 2012 Gold Medal at the London Olympic Games and the 2011 and 2013 World Championship titles. At World Team Trials earlier this month, Burroughs defeated Kyle Dake to win his spot on the United States roster at the 2015 World Championships to be held in Las Vegas in September. Burroughs resides in Lincoln, Nebraska with his wife and son. In college, Burroughs won two NCAA Div. 1 titles for Nebraska, and was a three time All-American. He won the 2011 Dan Hodge Trophy as the nation’s best college wrestler. For more information on Burrough’s, visit: http://www.asicsamerica.com/athletes/jordan-burroughs
