Around the Games: Super Friday, Playboy

(ATR) The so-called ?Super Friday? appears to be no different than the previous six days that have elapsed on the Athens Olympics calendar

(ATR) The so-called ?Super Friday? appears to be no different than the previous six days that have elapsed on the Athens Olympics calendar.

With events taking place at 29 venues across Athens, this is the busiest day on calendar. Saturday will bring 27 events, and the number will keep dropping until the finale on August 29.

Despite the heaviest demand of the Games for transport and spectator services, Athens 2004 reports no strains on the system with the day half over.

Meanwhile, ticket sales may have reached the saturation point with Thursday sales at 70,000 ? a drop from previous days that were in excess of 80,000.

Efforts by Athens 2004 to quash the latest issue of the Greek edition of Playboy apparently have failed, with a Greek court refusing to issue an injunction against the magazine.

The magazine features undressed female athletes and some tongue-in-cheek copy ("Go For A Sexathlon Gold") and use of the Olympic rings. ATHOC says the magazine violates Olympic trademarks.
