(ATR) The CEO of the Australian National Olympic Committee Fiona de Jong has announced her resignation after 12 years with the AOC.
Shortly after the birth of her first child, De Jong accepted the position as CEO in 2014.The former lawyer and triathlete worked as the AOC Director of Sport before the promotion.
She has overseen 10 Games during her time with the AOC including Turin 2006, Beijing 2008 and London 2012.
Since the Rio 2016 Games, De Jong’s departure marks the second change in senior leadership at the AOC.
Longstanding vice-president Peter Montgomery recently resigned as well and was replaced by Winter Olympics chief de mission Ian Chesterman.
De Jong is expected to leave at the end of the year. The AOC will begin its recruiting process to replace De Jong next month.
