AISTS is proud to announce the Global Sports Development Scholarship available for one AISTS MSA participant of the 2013 edition.

It is the second year in a row that AISTS receives support in the form of a scholarship from The Foundation for Global Sports Development (GSD), an international organisation which supports programmes to promote sportsmanship, education, fair play and ethics among the world's sports enthusiasts.

Last year's Global Sports Development Scholarship was awarded to Dagim Teshome from Ethiopia who worked with Haile Gebrselassie. "It is important to support a student who would not be able to take part in our programme without a scholarship. It is a great contribution to the support of sport in less privileged country", so Dr Claude Stricker, AISTS Executive Director.

Dr Ungerleider, GSD' Executive Board member:" It is a great honor to collaborate with AISTS, a first rate organization with a mission statement that is in harmony with Global Sports Development. We plan to have a long-term relationship with their fine team for many years to come"

AISTS and GSD encourage applications from any developing country. Candidates of the scholarship must be successful in their application to the AISTS MSA 2013 and in financial need, as stated in the scholarship criteria.

The GSD scholarship covers the AISTS MSA course fee of 25,600CHF and is opened for applications from now on until Friday 15 August 2012. For more information on the scholarship please click here, email info@aists.org or phone + 41 21 693 85 93.

About GSD

In 1972, 16-year-old Olympic swimmer Rick DeMont was stripped of his gold medal. In 2001, with the help of the founders of Foundation for Global Sports Development, he was finally, formally, cleared of wrongdoing. In the years between, Rick didn't give up on sports. He competed, coached and fought to clear his good name. Fighting with him, and for him, was the genesis of our organization, Justice for Athletes.

As Rick's story circled the globe, corporations, federations and organizations contacted us, wanting to do more. We watched in awe as their generosity began to open doors for other young athletes.

After 15 years of supporting youth sports and education, Justice for Athletes is now Foundation for Global Sports Development (GSD). Our new name better reflects our international mission, but our focus remains unchanged-supporting the programs that cumulatively help thousands of children learn, through sports, life's most valuable lessons.
