The AISTS (International Academy of Sport Science and Technology) Master in Sport Administration (MSA) has been recognised officially as one of the top sports management programmes in the world.

The AISTS MSA has clinched 3rd place in the Eduniversal Best Masters Ranking of sports programmes, which takes into account the satisfaction of the students, the salary of the graduates’ first job after leaving and the reputation of the programme.

"At the IOC, we value programmes like the AISTS MSA, which provide highly qualified individuals with a 360° understanding of sport administration coupled with the excellence of a university degree. Education in sport is still regarded as a relatively new concept, but we are well aware of the need for people with sport specific education." Gilbert Fell, Olympic Games Executive Director, IOC.

Eduniversal has 10 years of experience in ranking postgraduate programmes and in 2011/2012 investigated a total of 12,000 Masters Programmes in the 1,000 Best Business Schools across 9 geographical regions (154 countries).

The AISTS MSA itself is organised by the AISTS and co-signed by the EPFL (the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne), UNIL (the University of Lausanne), UNIGE (the University of Geneva), and IDHEAP (the Swiss Graduate School of Public Administration).

The AISTS MSA is a one-year postgraduate programme that incorporates 7 months of study and 5 months of projects and professional experience in the sport industry. The programme is endorsed by the International Olympic Committee and located in Lausanne, the Olympic Capital, Switzerland, and its graduates have moved on to influential and exciting careers in the global sports industry.

AISTS MSA graduates are currently spread all over the world, although most of them stay in the Lausanne region, the ‘Silicone Valley’ of sport, where there is a concentration of International Federations, and the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Some of them also go on to work in Olympic Organising Committees, or start up their own entrepreneurial projects in sport.

The programme is targeted at candidates who have a university degree and previous work experience but wish to re-orientate their career in the sports industry, or sports professionals, including current and former athletes. A good number of the people applying for the AISTS MSA are engineers, lawyers, bankers, and people in general administration or business with a passion for sport.

The deadline to apply for the 2014 edition of the AISTS MSA is on the 15th August 2013. The same deadline applies to candidates for the AISTS Athlete Scholarship.
