AISTS Explores Sport Event Management -- Conferences and Conventions

(ATR) The International Academy of Sport Science and Technology research center will host the 2017 Sports Event Management and Organization Seminar in the Olympic capital.

"I thoroughly recommend the program as an excellent way to gain valuable insight into the current state of play across a range of critical areas in the business of sport at large," SEMOS lecturer and Head of Olympic Games Knowledge Management (IOC) Christopher Payne said in a statement.

"Additionally, for anyone involved in event management, the importance of simply learning before doing cannot be underestimated. SEMOS™ is one excellent way participants can begin to fill the knowledge gaps so evident in poorly run events."

Over four days, course participants will explore topics includingrisk management, security, logistics, sponsorships, accreditation and more.

The 5th Asian Games Deputy Director Jose Dhooma, UCI Head of Marketing Cyrille Jacobsen, IOC Advisor Francess Lusack and FIVB Commercial Director Mario Medeiros Azevedo are among speakers of the event.

India Hosts International Sporting Goods Show

Sport India 2017 - the 5th India international sporting goods show - will take place inNew Delhi from Aug. 22-24.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, state governments and around 70 sports federations are expected to attend.

The event will be split into four groups, each covering various aspects of the sports industry. Groups include fitness, world adventure, golf and infra-tech.

Accessories, sports wear, fitness equipment, raw materials, technology and more will be on display for delegates to browse during the many exhibition sessions.

A pickle ball tournament, crossbow shooting activities and a sports fashion show will also be held during the three day event.

SportAccord Convention Recreates Conference Segment

SportAccord Convention reveals the new "CityAccord" segment for the event held in Bangkok next year.

Formerly named "City Forum," the new program is designed to bring together cities, event organizers, sports commissions and more to discuss insights on hosting world sporting events under the theme 'Making Relationships a Priority'.

CityAccord will be preceded by City-to-City, an event focused on youth sports programs and activations.

"The Smart Cities & Sport Network is thrilled to support the SportAccord Convention in developing inspiring and interactive topics for the City-to-City session and the CityAccord" SportAccord Convention Co-ordinator Melanie Duparc said in a statement.

"We look forward to enhancing the relationships between cities from around the globe and the international sport world."

Plenary sessions of the event will be held on the first two days of the seven day convention. Beyond the opening sessions, delegates will also have the opportunity to attend exhibition halls along with numerous workshops.

The conference will once again feature MediaAccord.

The MediaAccord conference gives a space for media and federations to collaborate on best practices to win over fans and build a strong online presence.

The one day LawAccord conference will also be held in conjunction with the event again next year.

During LawAccord, delegates will hear the latest updates from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

The 16th edition of the event is set to take place from April 15-21, 2018.

MeetingsQuest Program Unveiled

The second MeetingsQuest event of the year will once again be held in Atlantic City, USA and feature conversations with industry experts, celebrations and more.

The two day conference will open on the city's famous boardwalk where participants can network and enjoy a night of dance.

Day two of the conference will include a series of briefings among industry experts such as the founding partner of Howe & Hutton and general counsel for Meeting Professionals International, Jonathan Howeandformer president of the International Association of Exhibitions & Events, Steven Hacker.

The event will also once again feature a keynote address by Olympic gymnast and gold medalist Shannon Miller.

Miller intends to give participants an idea of what its like to have a ‘gold-medal mindset’ through personal experiences, her fight against ovarian cancer and how she tackles day to day challenges.

Another networking session along with a cash prize drawing will close the event .

Meetings Quest 2017 will be held at the Borgata Hotel from June 28-29.
