The WBSC revealed that Air Canada has come aboard as an official partner of the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup 2017 in Thunder Bay, Canada.

The World Baseball Softball Confederation today revealed that Air Canada, the country's largest airline, has come aboard as an official partner of the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup® 2017 in Thunder Bay, Canada.

Baseball's pinnacle youth international tournament, which brings together the top young players and future superstars of the world, will be staged from 1-10 September across Thunder Bay's Port Arthur Stadium and Baseball Central.

"Air Canada is proud to be a sponsor of the 2017 WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup. For a global carrier, an international tournament such as this is an opportunity to do what we do best, connect people from around the world, including bringing them to local communities," said Kevin Howlett, Air Canada Senior Vice President, Regional Markets and Government Relations.

"The backing of a major airline like Air Canada, together with over 30 official partners, underscores the growing attraction and appeal of the youth Baseball World Cup platform as one of the premier world championships in the highly coveted youth space," said Masaru Yokoo, WBSC Head of Global Marketing for Baseball.

Air Canada joins top-tier regional partners Tbaytel, Goldcorp and CN Rail, and 30 other regional partners.
