We would like to invite everyone to be part of the ICG 2016 and to celebrate the values of friendship and respect not only on the slopes, ice rinks and ski-tracks, but also at the Homebase. Therefore, there is a colourful side programme at our Homebase from 11.1. to 14.1. with a mixture of trans sport, music, dance and chill-out,’ Georg Spazier, CEO of the innsbruck-tirol-sports GmbH (ITS) entrusted with the organisation and implementation of the ICG explains.
All highlights at a glance: sport, fun and action
Whether you feel like relaxing together in the athletes’ lounge, making new friends with guests from all over the world, or taking part in the action sport with three days of ‘U Tour Deluxe’ of the Sportunion – ‘Being part of it’ is the motto at the Homebase of the ICG!
Beate Palfrader, member of the Tyrolean Government, is looking forward to an exciting week. ‘It is so important to get children and young persons interested for sport, intercultural exchange and joint activities. The ICG 2016 offer a large platform for this and invite to watch the sport competitions and take part in the side programme for free.’ Sport and action are part of the U Tour Deluxe programme. Different sport stations from Parcour to Freerunning, over Slackline and Climbing are waiting for the visitors in the Exhibition Hall A. The BMX and Mountain bikers can also look forward to the Homebase, since the ICG is bringing the Pumptrack in world cup format including an international qualifier race to the Tyrol for the first time. The massive Base Five Training Camp powered by Under Armour & Gigagsport will also quicken the pulse of all sport fans. A little more relaxing, but not less exciting will be the ICG Freeride Film Night with the newest Movies of Alp Con, Pirate Movie Production and Freeski Crew. In order for all snow fans to be ready for the live version of freeriding, it is important to pack in your avalanche transceiver and avalanche probe for the ‘learning by doing’ SAAC Safety Day.
Dance and Music at the Homebase
Next to sport and fun the Homebase also has space for dance and music. During the afternoon of the 14.01. the ICG 2016 together with star coach Axel Felipe Hernandez (Special Elements) and the ‘I Can Groove’ choreographer Ömer Erdogdu invite you to dance together. After the 2.5 hour dance workshop, the persons who actually do not like to dance will not be able to sit still on the ICG beanbags and will definitely also join in at the Concert Night. So leave on your dancing shoes and enjoy finest Tyrolean dialect rap of the band ‘Von Seiten der Gemeinde’ before cheering on the unique electronic Balkan, Gypsy and Swingsound of [dunkelbunt].
Vice Mayor Christoph Kaufmann is enthusiastic about the offer at the Homebase: ‘I am sure that there is something for everyone regardless of age and interest at the Homebase, as there is a large variety of activities in various different areas. We are looking forward to many visitors and workshop participants and invite everyone to an extraordinary event week.’
So join & have fun!
