Acting general secretary of the Bahrain Olympic Committee Abdulrahman Askar yesterday (JULY 3) received at his office general secretary of Nasser bin Hamad Sports Research Award Dr. Abdulrahman Al Sayyar, who presented him with the latest developments on this award.

Dr Sayyar said 14 researches were presented in all three areas of the award. These areas are sports management, sports training and sports medicine. According to Dr. Sayyar, the researches were submitted last month.

Both parties also had talks on the estimated budget for the award, the preparations for the award Executive Office meeting, in addition to the arrangements for the Technical Committee meeting.

The technical meeting will be attended by top academic personnel from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt and Jordan, all of whom are specialists in the field of studies and mathematical research.

On his part Askar expressed admiration for the positive response from the Bahraini researchers towards this award, which underlines their keenness to embody the role of research in the development process, which is a modern phenomenon that calls for pride.

Askar asserted that the Bahrain Olympic Committee supports this approach with full force and in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad.

He also noted the significant role of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa in launching this award, which is expected to include other Arab nations.
