Good Bye Ed Hula III

We officially bid farewell to Ed Hula III, a member of the staff since 2006, fresh out of high school. His final post at ATR was Director of Business Development.

True, as the son of ATR Editor Ed Hula and Publisher Sheila Scott Hula, Ed 3 had insider connections, but he was a valuable member of the team. He was first credentialed as a reporter for the Turin 2006 Winter Olympics, scaling peaks to cover the Games.

He worked part time from 2007 to 2010 while earning his B.A. in political science and philosophy at Georgia State University.

Ed 3 covered a range of stories around the world as a reporter through 2015. He also handled logistical planning for Olympic Games and other events. As a youngster, Ed 3 was at Barcelona, Atlanta and Sydney, but as a professional he attended fiveOlympic Games.

As Director of Business Development, Ed 3 was involved with sales and special events, such as the 25th anniversary events for Around the Rings at the 2017 Sport Accord Convention in Aarhus, Denmark.

Many of his former duties in sales and business development will now be handled by ATR VP for Sales Eric Moran.

Ed 3 will be missed. His personality helped keep things lively, whether in the office or celebrating a birthday with his many Olympic friends in Moscow or Lausanne. In the Atlanta headquarters, Ed 3 was chair of the PPC: the Party Planning Committee.

"There certainly is a sadness on my part to part professionally with someone who means more to me as a son than anything else," says Ed Hula, Editor and Founder of ATR.

"But Ed is ready to take another step in his career to make the most of his experience at Around the Rings, the contacts he has made. He’s certain to bring the same success to his new ventures that he contributed to ATR," says Hula senior.
