The Riyadh 2030 Asian Games bid today welcomed the results of a national opinion poll highlighting that a huge 91% of the Saudi public support Riyadh’s mission to stage the event.
The independent and extensive findings showcase the widespread endorsement of Riyadh’s bid by Saudi individuals across all ages, genders and areas in the country. The survey was conducted by market research and data analysis firm, DRC (www.drc.today).
The representative poll surveyed 1,300 respondents, across 13 Saudi cities, and revealed unique insight into the Kingdom’s support for the 2030 Asian Games, including:
91% of the Saudi population support the 2030 Asian Games in Riyadh
95% of Riyadh’s population are ready to welcome the 2030 Asian Games
92% of respondents from Riyadh would want to watch the Games as a spectator
92% believe a 2030 Asian Games in Riyadh would attract large crowds of supporters
98% of the Saudi population agree that Saudi Arabia would be highly capable hosts
89% of respondents think the Asian Games is relevant to them
74% would recommend the Asian Games to friends or family
The opinion poll reaffirms that an Asian Games in Riyadh enjoys unwavering public support and would provide complete commercial certainty based on the confidence of attracting a huge domestic audience at competition venues and generating strong interest amongst TV and online viewers.
Riyadh 2030 would also be Saudi Arabia’s first-ever Asian Games and aligns with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals, as set by HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, which seek to transform the lives of all Saudis, including increasing participation in sport through the country’s Quality of Life Program.
