2018 SportAccord Convention Theme Revealed -- Conferences and Conventions

(ATR) SportAccord Convention reveals that marketing and sponsorship will be the main theme for the plenary sessions of the 2018 conference.

Plenary sessions will be held on the first two days of the seven day event. Beyond the opening sessions, delegates will also have the opportunity to attend exhibition halls along with numerous workshops.

The conference will once again feature the City Forum along with MediaAccord. The forum is designed to bring together cities, event organizers, sports commissions and more to discuss insights on hosting world sporting events.

The MediaAccord conference gives a space for media and federations to collaborate on best practices to win over fans and build a strong online presence.

The one day LawAccord conference will also be held in conjunction with the event again this year.

During LawAccord, delegates will hear the latest updates from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

The 16th edition of the event is set to take place in Bangkok, Thailand from April 15-21, 2018.

Sponsorship Expert Among Panelists at Soccerex 2017

BetVictor Head of Brand Shane Stafford will lead a panel on "sponsorship assets" at Soccerex 2017.

Stafford has more than 13 years of experience in brand engagement and has worked with numerous sponsorship agreements and nationwide marketing campaigns. Most recently Stafford launched the "Million Dollar Goal" campaign for the Euro 2016 Final as well as the "Golden Goal" for Premier League matches.

Stafford intends to share his knowledge on brand development and opportunities to better assist delegates of the convention.

Soccerex 2017 will take place beginning Sept. 4 in Manchester, England.

The three day convention, with nearly 3000 delegates from at least 80 countries expected to attend, will be opened by Soccerex chairman Tony Martin.

The conference will be divided into three categories: studio, academy and lab, each tackling subjects ranging from tournament expansion, stadium design, sponsorship, international investments, the latest in wearable tech, to the rise of influencer marketing.

Industry leaders including UEFA and the Royal Belgian Football Association will also discuss the latest in issues and innovations.

Closing the conference, Head of FIFA "Fnatics" Colin Johnson will examine the "The relationship between football and esports" and how the two can best collaborate in the future.

Soccerex 2017 will conclude on Sept. 6.

Pfizer Canada Inc. named VISTA 2017 Title Sponsor

The official pharmaceutical partner for the Canadian Paralympic Team Pfizer Canada Inc. has been named the sole title sponsor for the VISTA 2017 conference.

Pfizer Canada is the Candian Paralympic Committee’s longest standing corporate partner, having worked with the committee since 1996.

"Having recently celebrated the 20-year anniversary of our partnership with Pfizer Canada, their sponsorship of VISTA 2017 is testament once again to the outstanding support of Paralympic sport that they bring to the table", Canadian Paralympic Committee CEO Karen O’Neill said in a statement.

"Pfizer Canada’s sponsorship of VISTA 2017 will help create the opportunity for leadership dialogue and development; it will advance the Paralympic sport science and sport medicine agenda and will showcase best practices and thought leadership of the international Paralympic community."

The three-day conference held in Toronto, Canada intends to bring 300 of the world's leading sports scientists to discuss topics under the theme "Opportunities and Challenges in Paralympic Sport Science and Sport Medicine Support".

The event will feature an Interactive Learning and Scientific Celebration where the winner of the IPC Paralympic Scientific Award will be announced.

World of SportTake to Paris for Sustainability Congress

Global sports organizations will convene in Paris on May 23 for the inaugural Congress of Sport and Sustainability International (SandSI).

The Congress aims to discuss the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the Paris Agreement and other environmental strategies.

The International Olympic Committee, French Ministry of Sport and more are expected attendees of the Congress.

Participants of the event intend to work to "ensure that sustainability is a key business principle throughout the global sports industry" as well as to promote healthy, sustainable initiatives.

"By bringing international sport and sustainability experts together we aim to support the global fight against climate change and address some of the urgent social issues our world has to deal with," SandSI president Neil Beecroft said in a statement.

"Sport can play a crucial role and SandSI will leverage this opportunity."
