(ATR)Achievements of equestrian athletes around the world will be recognized during the 2016 FEI Awards gala this week.

One athlete under the age of 21 who has demonstrated a continuous growth in the equestrian sport will receive theLongines™ Rising Star award. Other awards include best athlete, best groom, the Solidarity award and the Against all Odds award which will go to an athlete who still participates in the sport despite physical impairment or personal circumstances.

Some of the nominees are Nick Skelton for best athlete, Maddison McAndrew of Australia for best groom, Gina Maria Schumacher of Germany for the Longines™ Rising Star award, Manuel Franke Bertolotto for the Against all Odds award and many more!

The jury will consist of international equestrian experts including FEI President Ingmar De Vos.

Over 350 guests representing 134 National Equestrian federations are expected to attend the event. The FEI Awards gala will take place on Nov. 22 in Tokyo, Japan at thePrince Park Tower Hotel.

ITTF Names Male & Female Para Table Tennis Star Nominees

ITTF have released the nominees for the Male and Female Para Table Tennis Star award for the Seamaster Qatar 2016 ITTF Star Awards. The awards ceremony held at the Sheraton Hotel in Doha, Qatar will celebrate the achievements of table tennis players around the world.

The youngest ever table tennis Para champion Laurens Devos, Rio Paralympic gold medalist Panfeng Feng, and Rio Paralympic and World Champion Peter Rosenmeier will be one of the next Male Para Table Tennis Stars.

Nominees in the running for the Female Para Table Tennis Star award include Rio 2016 Para gold medalist Jing Liu, Beijing 2008 and Rio 2016 Olympian Sandra Paovic and China Para Open champion Juan Xue.

"On behalf of QTTA, I am excited to be hosting the celebrations for the world's best table tennis players in Doha, Qatar. QTTA have very elaborate plans for the 2016 ITTF Star Awards and everyone in attendance and fans around the world watching on TV will surely enjoy the show we have planned to honor the most important people in our sport, the athlete's and their achievements in 2016," Qatar Table Tennis Association (QTTA) President Khalil Al-Mohannadi said in a statement.

Fans will continue to have the opportunity to vote on their favorite male and female table tennis stars and coaches on the event website. The ITTF Awards ceremony will take place on Dec. 8.

Voting Open for 2016 Hockey Star Awards

The International Hockey Federation (FIH) will be hosting the 2016 Hockey Star Awards at the beginning of next year. Fans now have the opportunity to vote on their favorite hockey athletes, coaches and umpires on the event website.

Five male and female nominees have been named for each of the Player, Goalkeeper and Rising Star awards. Three coaches from each gender have been nominated for the 2016 Hockey Stars Coach of the Year awards.

Some of the nominees includeKate Richardson-Walsh of Great Britain and John-John Dohmen of Belgium for player of the year, Jackie Briggs of the USA and David Harte of Ireland for goalkeeper of the year and Danny Kerry and Alyson Anna for coach of the year.

The 2016 Hockey Star Awards will take place in January. Voting will close at midnight CET on Dec. 2.
