2015 Gwangju Universiade boards with Asiana Airlines

Asiana Airlines has become an official sponsor of the 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade.

2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade Organizing Committee (hereafter GUOC 2015) signed the sponsorship agreement with Asiana Airlines at the Gwangju City Hall on the 30th. In attendance were Yoon Jang-hyun, Gwangju mayor and Chairman of GUOC, Kim Yoon-suk, Secretary General of GUOC, and Kim Soo-cheon, president of Asiana Airlines.

Kumho-Asiana Group has been a huge support since the hosting of the Summer Universiade was awarded to the city of Gwangju, and through this sponsorship agreement Asiana Airlines will see through the successful hosting of the GwangjuUniversiade from beginning to the end.

Asiana Airlines is a ‘global premium partner’, the highest rank in partnership, and will provide airline-related services for the participating athletes, such as airline tickets and baggage service.

In addition, Asiana Airlines will promote and contribute to the participation atmosphere of the Universiade in the aircraft that travel over 100 routes around the world.

Chairman Yoon Jang-hyun stated, "I am very pleased and delighted that the global airline company, Asian Airlines is sponsoring the Gwangju Universiade." He also added, "I hope the Gwangju Universiade, a global sports festival for the youth, will become an opportunity for the Asiana Airlines to advance even further."

Kim Soo-cheon, president of Asiana Airlines, commented, "As an official sponsor of the Gwangju Universiade, we will put forth our best effort to support the successful preparations and hosting of the Games."

As a Global Premium Partner, Asiana Airlines is given the rights to use the title as the official sponsor of the Gwangju Universiade, as well as use the official Gwangju Universiade logo, advertise on the players’ uniforms, advertise on A-boards in competition venues and more, while Asiana Airlines will utilize the 2015 Gwangju Universiade in national and international marketing.

2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade will occur in Gwangju and the surround areas for 12 days from July 3rd to 14th, 2015, with around 20,000 participants from 170 countries attending. Meanwhile, the organizing committee has signed sponsorship agreements with SK C&C (IT), SK Telecom (telecommunications), and KIA Motors (transportation) as global premium partners.
