With exactly a year to go until the Games, the 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade Organizing Committee (hereafter GUOC 2015) has begun the procedure of entry registration by sending out official invitations to the member nations of theInternational University Sports Federation (hereafter FISU).

According to the organizers of the Games, on July 2nd, the official invitation to the Gwangju Universiade was sent out to the 167 countries of FISU membership and sports federation member countries of the 21 sports that will be held at the Gwangju

Universiade, starting the official entry process. The official invitation must be sent out with a year to the event.

The official invitation has been signed by FISU President Claude-Louis GALLIEN, Chairman of the Organizing Committee YOON Jang-Hyun, and President of the Korean University Sports Board YOU Byong-Jin, and includes the registration form and the registration process for National Federations wishing to take participation.

With the Games only a year away, the official invitation is the actual first step in the process of entry registration for the participating nations of the Gwangju Universiade. The National University Sports Federations (NUSF) that receive the invitation must submit the following:

- Intention of Participation, 9 months prior to the Games

- General Entry Form, 7 months prior to the Games

- Quantitative Entry Form (definitive information about number of athletes), 4 months prior to the Games

- Nominative/Individual Entry Form (personal data about each member of the delegation), 1 month prior to the Games

Meanwhile, the organizing committee has created the NUSF Service Team last April as it is expected the amount of matters related with each NUSF will increase after the distribution of the invitations. The NUSF Service Team will accommodate the NUSFs on any visits prior to the Games as well as all related services, ranging from arrival and departure to competition scheduling and so on. Kim Yoon-suk, Secretary General of the GUOC 2015, said, "Sending out the official invitations is the starting point of participation registration, so it is a meaningful milestone in the hosting of the Gwangju Universiade." He also added, "This is the time to mobilize all the support from the citizens of Gwangju and host a successful Gwangju Universiade."
