The 2012 Team USA Media Summit presented by the U.S. Olympic Committee will take place May 12-15 at the Hilton Anatole hotel in Dallas, Texas. More than 100 Team USA hopefuls for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in London will participate in the four-day event.

The Team USA Media Summit provides an opportunity for print, broadcast, online and photo journalists to conduct interviews and photo sessions with America's top Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls less than three months prior to the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games. At the event, reporters are able to conduct interviews during press conferences, roundtables and special television/radio interview sessions. Photographers will also have the opportunity to photograph selected athletes.

"The Team USA Media Summit provides a valuable opportunity for journalists to become familiar with the stories of America's athletes prior to the Games, and we are excited to be bringing this event to Dallas for the first time," said USOC Chief Communications Officer Patrick Sandusky. "Dallas is one of the finest sport cities in the United States and conveniently located in close proximity to the training communities of many 2012 Team USA hopefuls."

The USOC has hosted the Team USA Media Summit each year since 1988. The host cities include Atlanta, Ga.; Chicago, Ill.; Colorado Springs, Colo., Houston, Texas; New York, N.Y.; and Salt Lake City, Utah.

At the 2008 Team USA Media Summit, 115 Team USA hopefuls representing 26 Olympic and four Paralympic sports participated in the four-day event held at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago. Of these athletes, 53 had previously competed in an Olympic or Paralympic Games, 86 represented Team USA at the 2008 Olympic Games and 49 won medals in Beijing.

Headlining the group was swimmer Michael Phelps (Baltimore, Md.), a 14-time Olympic gold medalist, and his coach Bob Bowman; track and field standouts Bryan Clay (Honolulu, Hawaii) and Allyson Felix (Los Angeles, Calif.); soccer athletes Kate Markgraf (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) and Heather O'Reilly (East Brunswick, N.J.); six members of the 2008 silver medal winning women's gymnastics team, including individual medalists Shawn Johnson (Des Moines, Iowa) and Nastia Liukin (Parker, Texas); and Paralympic stars Jessica Long (swimming/Baltimore, Md.), Marlon Shirley (track & field/San Diego, Calif.) and Iraqi war veteran Josh Olson (shooting/Salem, Ala.).
