(ATR) The Vancouver 2010 flame heads west through Saskatchewan reaching the border of Alberta on Day 75 of the torch relay marking one month until the Olympic Games.
Yesterday, the Vancouver Olympic torch relay traveled through 14 towns and three Olympians were torchbearers. One torchbearer carried the Olympic Flame in a wagon pulled by two horses in Duck Lake.
Today, the torch relay departs Prince Albert and continues through the towns of Shellbrook, Leask, Blaine Lake and Hafford.
In North Battleford, ice hockey Olympian Fiona Smith-Bell will run with the flame.
A welcome celebration will take place at the Civic Centre and will include a community youth choir.
The flame heads north to Battleford and then west to Moosomin, Saulteaux, Cochin, Maidstone, Lashburn and Marshall.
The Olympic Torch reaches its final destination point of the day in the city of Lloydminster which has the unusual geographic distinction of straddling the provincial border between Saskatchewan and Alberta.
Curling Olympian Marcia Gudereit is schedule to run with the flame and one torchbearer will carry the Olympic Flame in a snow plow.
A welcome celebration will take place at Bud Miller All Seasons Park. The festivities planned are an Aboriginal welcome, dance, music, poetry reading and a school choir will sing the national anthem.
Tomorrow, the torch travels through 10 towns and will be carried by four Olympians as it reaches Edmonton the provincial capital of Alberta.
