Women's U19 WFC 2016

The 7th Women's U19 World Floorball Championships 2016 are played in Quinte Sport & Wellness Centre, Belleville, Ontario, Canada, 4th - 8th May. 16 teams, a new record, have registered for the Women's U19 WFC 2016, including Jamaica, Japan, Thailand and USA who will all make their debut in this category.

The tournament will be played with A- and B-divisions, each with eight teams divided into two groups. All games will be streamed live on the IFF YouTube channels in cooperation with the Loyalist College crew.

Match Schedule change

Due to the anticipated high level of local spectator interest in the Women’s U19 World Floorball Championships a small change has been made to the match schedule. If Canada qualify for the B-division semi-finals, their match will be played on Saturday 7th May at 19:00 in Yardmen Arena. Updated match schedule found here.

Opening Ceremony on May 3rd

The opening ceremony is free for spectators to attend on May 3rd at 18:00 in the Yardmen Arena. During the opening ceremony the Olympic Silver medalist in women's figure skating, Elizabeth Manley, will speak about the power of women in sport and the Quinte Ballet of Canada will perform an artistic dance of floorball and the history of sport in Canada.

309 397 Licensed Floorball Players in 2015

Based on the 2015 statistics the number of licensed players was close to 310 000 in the end of 2015. The number of recreational players has increased dramatically when more IFF member associations are collecting that information.

IFF Kids with Sticks Suppot Project

The International Floorball Federation has launched a new floorball equipment support project called Kids with Sticks and will donate 10 packages with sticks and balls. Based on applications the IFF will choose the best 10 applicants who will receive the equipment support. Each packages will include 30 sticks (length 70-80 cm) and a total of 30-40 balls.

Everyone from around the world can apply for the equipment support packages by filling out the short application form. The applications should be received by the IFF office latest 4.4.2016. The IFF will inform the winners latest on 22.4.2016 and these projects will also be published on the IFF website.

The Kids with Sticks Project is supported by the IFF Partner UNIHOC.
