THE SPOT Returns to Lausanne
ThinkSport announces four dominant award partners who will be involved in the start-up battle featuring atTHE SPOT, which returns to Lausanne on May 28-29.
The four award partners chosen are Asics Tenkan-Ten Growth Catalyst, Eurovision Sport, Swiss Timing and UEFA.
"We are thrilled to have such prestigious partners for the start-up battle, which is a key element of THE SPOT experience. All of these four Award Partners perfectly embody the spirit of the event, embracing progress and innovation within their organisations, for the good of sport and society," said Director of ThinkSport Anne Hellman.
The selected partners will supervise various rounds of the start-up battle and help develop the young entrepreneurs skills.
The start-up battle is operated by Venturelab, and will feature 40 young companies pre-selected by THE SPOT.
On the first day of competition, the up-and-coming companies will compete in a total of four rounds.
Each round of competitions will result in one winner who will then progress to the final round which will be held the next day.
The jury will consist of experts from various fields such as academia, business, and sports.
The young entrepreneurs are motivated by the prestige, prize money and possible collaboration opportunities with the partners.
Also, in addition to the start-up battle, the second edition of THE SPOT will feature a Marketplace and Demo Zone. These new additions will allow participants to present and discover new products along with several networking opportunities.

2019 Intersport Brand Engagement & Content Summit

Inaugural Urban Sports Summit Set For Next Week
The first Urban Sports Summit will be in Montpellier, France on May 29-30.
Organizers Hurricane say they are gathering world-class speakers to learn and share the scope of urban sports.
Panels and sessions are organized for host cities, key actors of the sport movement and brands.
Innovative conferences, including sponsorshipX, have joined the summit which takes place during FISE Montpellier, the world’s biggest action sports festival.
FISE Montpellier 2019 runs from May 29 to June 2.
Birmingham 2022 Features at Major Events Summit
The fifth annual Major Events Summit will be at the home of the 2022 Commonwealth Games next month.
Major Events International (MEI) is hosting the conference, described as the only multi games business of sport summit, at Villa Park in Birmingham, UK on June 26-27.
Preparations for the 2022 Games and the 2021 Rugby League World Cup, also being held in the UK, will be discussed.
MEI says the focus will also be on International Major Sports Events including the Pan American Games 2019 and 2023, Tokyo 2020, and wider sports events in Japan with coverage also on the new phenomenon of esports and trends in the Chinese market.
Limited to 150 attendees, including key procurement influencers and leading suppliers to the major sports events market, the highly interactive - "non-conference" format will give all participants the option to contribute.
The two-day event will consist of workshops, panels and round table discussions. Games organisers will outline plans and opportunities while suppliers share experiences and lessons learned.
