Strong Olympic, Paralympic Presence at LA84 Summit -- Conferences and Conventions

(ATR) More than 20 Olympians and Paralympians are attending the LA84 Foundation Summit today in Los Angeles.

The annual summit that brings together civic leaders, sport executives and experts, non-profit leaders and athletes began Friday morning at the JW Marriott at L.A. Live. Not only are athletes attending the sixth edition of the summit, many have been invited to deliver speeches and lead discussions.

Olympians Kerri Walsh Jennings, Allyson Felix, Julie Foudy and Janet Evans and Paralympian Mallory Weggeman are some of the headliners from the summit that features more than 40 speakers. Foudy began the event with welcoming remarks and is the emcee of the day-long summit.

LA 2028 director of athlete relations Janet Evans delivered an update on the return of the Summer Olympics to the United States following remarks from LA84 Foundation president Renata Simril. Both speakers explored the legacy and impact of the first Summer Olympics in the U.S. since Atlanta 1996.

Interviews, panel discussions and keynotes round out the day, with an interview of Walsh-Jennings by Foudy and closing keynote from Walsh-Jennings concluding the day’s discussions.

All of the speeches and discussions will explore the theme of "’The New Era of Youth Sports: Play for All’ with a focus on equity and inclusion and innovative ways to ensure that all youth have equal access to sport as a way to promote positive development and life-long well-being," according to organizers.

Time Running Out for Soccerex China Savings

A discounted rate for the Soccerex China conference expires October 27 at midnight.

The discounted rate for a delegate pass is currently $787 (600 British Pounds, 680 euros). The two-day event will take place on April 17-18 in Shenzhen, China.

The Soccerex China event will "connect football’s buyers, suppliers and decision makers for two days of insight, networking and business in one the fastest growing football markets in the world," according to organizers.

More than 1,200 delegates are expected to attend the conference that will feature 18 hours of insight into the global football market, including more than 65 exhibitors and 40 expert speakers. The event also offers 27 hours of scheduled networking opportunities.

Soccerex China will be delivered in partnership with Time Fun Culture and Media Company Ltd and the support the Shenzhen Football Association and the Shenzhen Municipal Government. The event combines a conference, exhibition and program of structured and social networking opportunities.

Topics at the conference will include Expert Insight for Football Business in China big data and the future transformation of football, bidding for and the legacy of major events, the future of broadcasting, esports, good governance, Chinese investment in global sport and many more.

Broadcasting, Technology Mix at ISC 2018

The International Sports Convention returns to Geneva, Switzerland once again in December 2018.

The 2018 edition of the convention will integrate both the Sports Broadcast Conference 2018 and the Sports Digital Conference, allowing attendees more opportunities for networking, learning and business development.

Exhibitors wishing to attend the convention will have options to select preferences if participation is confirmed by Dec. 1, 2017. Those who meet this deadline will have the options of a commercial presentation, advertisement in the ISC 2018 Showguide, a push message and premium listing on the ISC 2018 mobile application as well as conference delegate tickets.

The convention includes 18 sports conferences along with a 6,000 square meter exhibition hall. Attendees will be able to meet federations, leagues, clubs and global sports industry suppliers during the two-day convention.

ISC 2018 is scheduled for Dec. 5-6.
