Lacoste, Groupe BPCE Sign French Sponsorships
Lacoste is the newest sponsor of the French Olympic and Paralympic teams.
On Wedensday, CNOSF, the French National Olympic Committee, announced that the French athletic-wear company would replace Adidas as its uniform sponsor for the 2014 and 2016 Olympics.
"CNOSF welcomes this new partnership with a brand, a symbol of relaxed elegance, founded by a great French champion, René Lacoste, a medalist from the Paris Olympics in 1924," a statement said.
Groupe BPCE extended their sponsorship of CNOSF until the 2016 Games last week.
The official banking partner began the relationship in 2010.
"Olympism is a perfectly universal value that we defend in our businesses," said Francois Perol, the bank’s CEO.
Swiss Olympic Committee Extends Partners
Four companies extended their partnerships with the Swiss Olympic Committee.
Schenker Switzerland Ltd. will continue as an "Official Partner" through the 2016 Games, while B&T Image & Sound will be the official "Supplier" of the NOC through 2016.
Salmon and Smith & Nephew extended their partnerships through 2014.
Schenker will continue to provide logistical support for Swiss athletes and Swiss Sports, while B&T Image & Sound will provide the technology necessary for events in coordination with the Swiss Olympic Committee.
Salmon will supply the NOC with equipment and outerwear. Smith & Nephew will provide "Taping-Material" to all Swiss Olympic athletes.
New Chinese Olympic Committee Backer
Hengyuanxiang Group became an official partner of the Chinese Olympic Committee.
The company signed the partnership in a ceremony in Beijing last week.
The textile company will support the COC past the Rio 2016 Olympic Games as per the agreement.
Hengyuanxiang supported the COC from 2009 to 2012, making the new deal "essentially a renewal."
The agreement begins in January 2013, when Hengyuanxiang Group joinsfellow COC partners Anta, China National Cereals, BMW, Sina Corp and Hilton.
