(ATR)The Spanish National Olympic Committee (COE) visited Rio de Janeiro on an operational visit on Apr. 8.
NOC president Alejandro Blanco led a group to Brazil to visit where the country’s delegation would be staying for the Games and to get a progress update from Rio 2016 leaders.
Blanco called the visit, one that "detailed the state of the works and the master plan that will host competitions," in a statement.
He also visited with former sports minister Aldo Rebelo to discuss the "preparations and the technology coverage," for the Games, as well as sports minister George Hilton to discuss "sports models," in both Spain and Brazil.
Rebelo, now minister for Science and Technology, was replaced by Hilton in President Dilma Rousseff’s cabinet in December.
