(ATR) The Russian International Olympic University (RIOU) awarded master of sport administration (MSA) qualifications to graduates of the university’s first Olympic-focused study program.

The MSA course started in September 2013 with 27 students from 14 different countries. During the 10-month course, the group focused on themes pertaining to the Olympic Games such as economics, politics, governance, and communications.

During the Olympics in Sochi, students received practical experience in on-the-job training at Olympic venues and met with senior figures on the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee.

"I am very proud of each and every one of our new graduates," RIOU rector professor Lev Belousov tells Around the Rings.

"In choosing to come to RIOU for our first ever MSA course, they became pioneers of the sports industry. Now they are all masters of sport administration and ready to get to work in the sports world right away, and I have no doubt that they will massively contribute to the industry’s talent pool."
