The Russian International Olympic University (RIOU) is gearing up to host its inaugural international conference titled "Mega Events in Sport: Legal Environment" alongside the 22nd Congress of the International Association of Sports Law (IASL), with both events taking place over 17-18 November in Sochi.
RIOU is currently half-way through the first semester of its flagship annual Master of Sport Administration (MSA) course, which brings together a diverse intake of students from 15 different countries and 17 regions in Russia, representing National Olympic Committees and sports industry organisations.
In hosting its first international conference on campus, RIOU is expanding its role as a centre of Olympic learning with the aim of creating an ever-more diverse educational environment for students and lecturers.
RIOU Rector Professor Lev Belousov said:
"I am very proud that RIOU is holding its first-ever international conference and I look forward to welcoming the delegates to Sochi and to our state-of-the-art campus in just over a week.
"It has been a great team effort to organise our conference alongside the 22nd IASL Congress and I am very grateful to the partners who are making this event happen: the IASL, the Association of Lawyers of Russia and the Kutafin Moscow State Law University.
"What makes a university a true centre of learning is the availability of expert knowledge from varied sources. In welcoming some of the foremost leaders in sports law to RIOU, we are adding to RIOU’s knowledge base and building relations for the future."
