Rio de Janeiro's Municipal Olympic Company (EOM), announced its observer program for the 2014 World Cup. The EOM is in charge of executing all municipal projects for the 2016 Olympics.

As part of the program, EOM employees will get a behind-the-scenes look at World Cup operations to get an idea of what to expect in two years time.

"The program will raise the experience of the employees in large events and will generate a report to help theEOM and the City Hall in the preparation for the Olympic and Paralympic Games," CEO Joaquim Monteiro said in a release announcing the program.

The program will run from June 9to July 15.

Observer programs are typically done for future Olympic organizers to shadow their predecessors. Football is starting to adopt the scheme as well, with Brazil 2014 organizers going to Sochi for the Olympics. It is believed the Brazil 2014 Olympic visit was a first for a World Cup organizer.
