
(ATR) Delegates left Monaco as the 10th edition of the Peace and Sport International Forum concludes. IOC member Prince Albert of Monaco hosted the event along with Peace and Sport.
The forum provided a space for sports ministers, sport leaders, athletes that support peace initiatives and peace organizations to come together and exchange knowledge about delivering peace through sport.
Peace and Sport Founder Joel Bouzou said the three-day program was "full of learning, sharing and energy".
"The desire for change and world peace among the people who have attended the Forum this year has been incredible," Bouzou said in a statement. "I want to thank everyone for their meaningful input, and I am excited to build upon the foundations that have been laid here."
Nobel Peace Prize Laureate 2006 Professor Muhammad Yunus and four-time Premier League champion Didier Drogba, who created the Didier Drogba Foundation in 2010, were the headline speakers at this year’s event. There were 27 guest speakers long with 40 athletes who are part of the "Champions for Peace" program.
Former Afghanistan national women’s team captain, Khalida Popal, was named the Champion of the Year at the2017Peace and Sport Awards.

SportAccord Adds New Conference
The 2018 edition of the SportAccord Convention will feature the inaugural HealthAccord conference.
The theme of the conference that takes place on April 19 is "The Power of Sport - The Power to Change".
Association of Summer Olympic International Federations medical and scientific chair Margo Mountjoy and International Olympic Committee medical and scientific commission member Fabio Pigozzi will co-chair the new conference.
"HealthAccord is testament to Sport’s commitment to continued innovation for our athletes, as well as the significant role sport can play in cultures and communities around the world," the co-chairs said in a statement.
The conference will feature two sessions: first on athletes then on global citizens. Each session will include presentations, panel sessions and case studies.
The annual SportAccord Convention will take place from April 15-20 in Bangkok, Thailand.
