The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games bid has today been strengthened further with the announcement of global hospitality group AccorHotels as the 11th bid sponsor. The latest announcement takes the total sponsorship revenue so far to €22m and the overall target of €30m is set to be reached in the coming weeks and months with the confirmation of the final set of sponsors.
Each partner is supporting the Paris 2024 campaign by activating programmes that will help to enhance public and corporate engagement with the bid. With a portfolio of international hotel brands ranging from economy to luxury across 92 countries worldwide, AccorHotels will leverage its global knowledge and expertise in the hospitality industry to support the bid in its ambition to welcome the world to Paris – a city renowned for its hospitality and tourism – in 2024.
AccorHotels, is deeply rooted in French society employing 30,000 people in Paris. In 2015 France’s biggest multi-purpose auditorium, AccorHotels Arena, opened in the city and has since hosted some of the world’s biggest sports, music and arts events. The state-of-the art venue, which will go under the name Paris Arena I during the Games, will also host Olympic Judo and the final phase of the Olympic Basketball competition at Paris 2024 and the Wheelchair Basketball competition at the Paralympic Games.
The global hotel group also works in partnership with many sports events and institutions across France including the iconic French Open [Roland Garros], the Tour de France and a number of national sports federations.
