COLORADO SPRINGS, JAN. 10 - The largest multi-nation camp in USA Boxing history is set to begin today with over 75 boxers, coaches and delegation administrators from four different countries arriving to the United States Olympic Training Center (OTC) in Colorado Springs, Colo. to train with the top boxers from Team USA.
The 28 American boxers arrived to the OTC on Jan. 2 to begin preparing for the top boxers arriving from China, Finland, Great Britain and Japan, with boxers from these countries including Olympians, World Championship competitors and numerous international medalists. A complete list of boxers from Team USA taking part in the training camp can be seen below.
"We’re excited to start 2019 off with the largest camp this program has organized to date," stated USA Boxing High Performance Director Matt Johnson. "Hosting teams from Great Britain, Japan, China and Finland will not only provide our boxers with a variety of different styles to train with, but will also allow USA Boxing, as an organization, to build long lasting relationships with other federations for years to come."
The camp will feature multiple training sessions a day, including strength and conditioning, technical sparring, along with three days of test matches next week.
