Sport Integrity Preview
300 leading figures in sport will converge in France next week for the Sorbonne-ICSS Sport Integrity Forum.
Among those in attendance next Thursday will be IOC member Denis Oswald, former SportAccord executive Ingrid Beutler, and Around the Rings editor-in-chief Ed Hula, along with figures from FIFA, Interpol, and others.
Participants will get a look at ICSS’ work toward protecting the integrity of sport.
The setting for the conference is Sorbonne University, which is where Pierre de Coubertin spoke in 1892 and paved the way for the creation of the modern Olympic Movement.
New Logo for DOSB
The German Olympic Committee (DOSB) has a new promotional mark.
They began implementing the new design in May, once which DOSB vice president Hans-Peter Kramer says will "strengthen the brand and its recognition."
The logo incorporates the Olympic rings, as well as black, red, and gold, the national colors of Germany.
100 Days to YOG
Thursday marked 100 days to the start of the second Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing.
Among events in China to celebrate the occasion were a fencing demonstration in the host city feature London medalist Lei Sheng, a poster design exhibition in Beijing, and a street dance event in Hong Kong.
The Virtual Torch Relay app was made available for smartphone users to become digital torchbearers for the upcoming Games.
"Nanjing 2014 YOG is ready and we are in games-time testing mode," said organizing committee executive president Yang Wei-ze. "The Games will become a truly memorable event for all young people involved."
