(ATR)Play the Game searches for a host for the 12th edition of its world communication conference on sport and society.
Play the Game 2021 is expected to gather as many as 500 leading media professionals, academics, sports officials, sports business executives, and students from all over the world during four to five days in the second half of 2021.
Play the Game says a host can be a sports organization, a city, a media company, a university/education center, a sports club or a combination of all. Well-organized groups of interested individuals may also apply, but applicants must document solid organizational skills and financial capacities.
The deadline for applying is February 17, 2020.
If necessary, a formal bidding process will be carried out among the most qualified bids.
The selection process will be managed by the directors and conference manager of Play the Game. They will make a recommendation to the board of Play the Game/Danish Institute for Sports Studies, who is expected to make the final decision no later than June 2020.
The 11th edition of the international Play the Game conference, and the first held outside of Europe, was in Colorado Springs, Colorado in October 2019.
Inaugural Regional SportAccord Next Week
Esports, governance and rebranding strategies, protecting athletes and social responsibility will be among the key topics at the first Regional SportAccord in Fort Lauderdale, Florida next week.
The theme of the Regional SportAccord Pan America 2019 conference program , which runs from Dec. 10-12, is "A United Approach to the International Sport Landscape in the Americas".
Olympic gymnastics legend Nadia Comăneci has been confirmed as a keynote speaker and will kick off the third day of the conference.
ASOIF President Francesco Ricci Bitti will deliver the opening keynote address. International Judo Federation President Marius Vizer and International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation President Ivo Ferriani will be presenting viewpoints from an international sports federation perspective.
It will be the first networking and conference event to bring the Pan American, and the Olympic and non-Olympic communities together in one location.
After it closes, the fourth edition of the Americas Best Practices Symposium organized by Panam Sports and the United States Olympic Committee will welcome sport leaders from 41 countries throughout the continent.
The Regional SportAccord Pan America exhibition floor will remain open for an extra two days to accommodate attendees of the symposium which takes place from Dec. 13-14 in the same location, the Broward Convention Center.
On December 13, Panam Sports will present the inaugural Panam Sports Gala at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa. The best athletes and the most inspiring performances from the Lima 2019 Pan American Games will be honored.

Peace and Sport in Monaco
The 12th edition of the Peace and Sport International Forum is next week in Monaco.
This year's Forum will be held at the One Monte-Carlo, the newest conference center in the principality, from Dec. 11-13.
More than 600 decision-makers from 90 countries including heads of state, business and sports leaders, and Nobel Peace Prize laureates will explore the theme "Investing in Peace, Acting through Sport".
The annual Peace and Sport Awards ceremony will be held on the evening of Dec. 12.
This year there were a record number of applications for the nine awards to be granted to exceptional initiatives promoting peace through sport.
New Format for SPORTEL Spring Event
SPORTEL will introduce a new format when it returns to Miami after a two-year absence.
For the first time, a high-end one-day conference will be held on March 3 ahead of the three-day deal-making convention on March 4-6.
"We took the decision to organize the conference before the convention in order to make sure everyone has their schedules clear, and it is not running in the middle of other events when clients are already busy in meetings. This way, it is an opportunity for us to gather our community to attend the conference," said Sportel CEO Laurent Puons.

Second OTT Summit Asia Launches
SportsPro announces the return of the OTT Summit Asia for 2020.
The second edition of the conference will again be in Singapore. SportsPro says the event, which will be on March 25-26, will focus on bringing the key stakeholders from the Asian and international markets together to connect on all aspects of the sports OTT revolution.
There will be more than 15 sessions providing insights into topics including rights packaging, delivery and latency, piracy, and best practice revenue models.
