(ATR) The International Weightlifting Federation Women’s Commission will host a second Female Focus webinar this week.

The event, scheduled for March 26 at 9pm CET, will be held on Zoom. It can be followed live on the IWF YouTube channel, which will also have it available for viewing after it ends.

Jenny Ortiz Cardenas, a former weightlifter and coach and a sports medicine expert from Colombia, will speak on the "Barriers and Facilitators on Female Participation" in the sport.

Tina Ball, a highly successful coach from the youth to national levels, will also be giving a lecture. The New Zealander has coached at the last three Commonwealth Games, including coaching and developing 2018 Commonwealth Games gold medalist David Liti.

IWF Coaching and Research Committee Member Dr. Kyle Pierce will address "Men Coaching Women" in his talk. Pierce, a member of the USA Weightlifting Hall of Fame, has coached the United States, Ghana and the Seychelles at the World Championships.

Charlotte Fischer, MSc will be speaking on "Nutrition and Menstruation".

"We are celebrating Women's Month with yet another Female Focus Webinar on weightlifting," IWF Executive Board Member Karoliina Lundahl, who chairs the Women's Commission, tells Around the Rings.

"We had only planned to have one webinar but since the demand is there, we will supply our audience with more interesting topics on the female aspect of weightlifting."

Lundahl, of Finland, is the moderator as well as being part of a five-person panel that also includes Women's Commission members Heather Allison of Great Britain and Neroli King of New Zealand, IWF Athletes' Commission chair Sarah Davies of Great Britain, and IWF Executive member Pyrros Dimas of Greece.

The panelists, along with the lecturers, will take part in a Q&A session after the presentations.
