Turkish Airlines Golf Open begins today in Antalya
The second edition of the Turkish Airlines Golf Open kicks off today in Belek as the coastal town continues to strengthen its credentials as a year-round destination for international sporting competitions.
The event will return to the Montgomerie Maxx Royal after last year’s successful tournament provided a taste of the world-class golf that Turkey can stage. The course, which was designed by famous golfer Colin Montgomerie, will host a selection of the world’s top athletes including last year’s winner, Victor Dubuisson and world number four, Sergio Garcia.
Belek’s state-of-the-art facilities and stunning natural beauty have ensured that the town continues to attract international sporting events including the Turkish Ladies Open, the Turkish Airlines Challenge and SportAccord Convention 2014. The success of these events and the region’s fabulous climate have played a major part in Belek’s selection as the host of next year’s Triathlon European Cup and second stage of the Archery World Cup.
The Turkish Airlines Open, presented by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, will take place between the 13 and 16 November.
