(ATR) Supporters of the Paris 2024 bid will be able to donate to the campaign via text message in September.
The French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) will accept donations from Sept. 25-27 through a text message donation campaign, according to a report from Francs Jeux.
The campaign was born out of a survey CNOSF did finding that 40 percent of French citizens would donate one euro to help finance the Paris 2024 bid.
CNOSF will then accept text message donations of .65 euro (73 cents) in September after the bid is submitted to the IOC.
French mobile phone users can send a text saying "Je soutiens les Jeux" (I support the Games), which will automatically register a donation of .65 euro to CNOSF.
The host for the 2024 Olympics will be decided in 2017 at the IOC session in Lima, Peru. Paris, along with Boston and Hamburg have declared their intentions to bid.
