On November 3rd and 4th, the B&W Halls in the Danish capital will be the setting of a unique and spectacular event. With Copenhagen Winter Games, Olympic sports performances will come together with amazing cultural experiences. The focal point is the world championships and Olympic qualifications for skiers and snowboarders in the BIG Air discipline.
On Friday the 3rd and Saturday the 4th of November, the B&W Halls on Refshaleøen will be the hub of a truly global event. No less than a billion viewers will be able to follow Copenhagen Winter Games.
Here, 120 athletes from more than 25 countries will compete in the world championships and Olympic qualifications for skiers and snowboarders in the BIG Air discipline, and the event takes place merely three months before the Winter Olympics in South Korea.
International skiing and snowboard stars will visit Copenhagen
The focal point of the competitive event will undoubtedly be the 55-meter ski slope that will send the many competing participants out on a 25-meter jump, during which they will deliver the most spectacular and stylish tricks possible.
The list of prominent athletes that will be part of Copenhagen Winter Games includes snowboarders like Emil Ulsletten (Norway), Billy Morgan (England), Marcus Kleveland (Norway) and Roope Tonteri (Finland) – and skiers such as Kai Mahler (Switzerland), Oysten Braten (Norway), Vincent Gagnier (Canada) and Jesper Tjäder (Sweden).
Culture festival with street food, music and activities for everyone
Copenhagen Winter Games will be much more than a sports event, however. It will be a full-scale culture festival with the best street food that the Danish capital has to offer, as well as lots of activities for the audience – ranging from kid-friendly sledding slopes to after-skiing for adults.
Additionally, there will be an impressive lineup of music events, featuring live concerts as well as performances by internationally renowned after-skiing DJs. Both days will feature music, and the headliner is none other than MØ.
Big musical performances are awaiting
The Friday schedule features Alex Vargas, who released his debut album Cohere earlier this year; the rap group Benal, which consists of Benjamin Hav and Magnus Albert, recent recipients of the prestigious P3 Award; as well as Swedish DJ Sebastian Ingrosso, a former member of Swedish House Mafia.
On Saturday, MØ will be accompanied by Saveus, also known as Martin, winner of the Danish X Factor in 2008; Phlake, who has received two Danish Music Awards for his album Slush Hours; and finally, the innovative DJ duo TooManyLeftHands, which consists of Anders K and Martin Nick.
