Seef – Bahrain Olympic Committee:
Representatives of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) recently attended a series of meetings in Dammam, in Saudi Arabia, where they were briefed on the preparations of the organising committee to host the Second GCC Games from October 15 to 26.
BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar led the Bahrain delegation to Dammam and attended the Executive Office meeting, in the presence of BOC sports advisor Abduljalil Asad, Arab Public Relations head Mohammed Al Zayed and administrative commission member of the games Feras Al Halwachi.
The meeting reviewed a comprehensive organising committee report on the present arrangements made prior to the games kick off.
These preparations include a visit to the sports facilities to host the event, as well as the organising committee meeting with the chef de missions and other coordination meetings.
It’s worth noting that the kingdom of Bahrain will be taking part in 11 different competitions at the games. They are athletics, football, basketball, table tennis, handball, bowling, karate, swimming, goal ball, weightlifting and volleyball.
