The Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) is proud to announce a new partnership with the worldwide premium airline Qatar Airways in the lead-up to the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. The APC and Qatar Airways have worked together to offer the wider Asian Paralympic family the opportunity to travel to Rio in the best conditions and at preferential rates.

This is the first major partnership secured by the new APC Board elected in 2014 and will directly benefit the Asian athletes and the wider Asian Paralympic community. If successful, this could lead to a longer term commitment with the airline.

National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) travelling to Rio for the Paralympic Games will have access to special tariffs on Qatar Airways from their country of origin. The offer also includes a special rate for friends, families and supporters of the athletes.

Commenting on the deal, APC CEO Tarek Souei said: "We’re delighted that we’ve been able to work with Qatar Airways to support our members. Travelling to a Paralympic Games is always a significant cost and we’re

pleased that this deal can help ensure a fantastic experience, not just for the athletes but also for their friends and families. Through this agreement with Qatar Airways, the APC would like to invite more companies and service providers from the Asian Region to support the athletes and facilitate their preparations and participation in major

sporting events including Paralympics, World and Regional Competitions."
