ANOC continues commitment to disseminating best practice to NOCs through world-class education

The Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) today announced the four scholars that it has selected to study on the Dream Together Programme at Seoul National University as it continues to provide opportunities to its NOCs to raise professional standards and learn from global best practices.

The four scholars who will study at Seoul National University between August 2015 and December 2016 are:

Mr Moahammad Tanvir Zaman, Bangladesh

Ms Laura Melissa Villarreal Higuera, Colombia

Ms Primrose Mhunduru, Zimbabwe

Ms Ehsan Mohammed Abdullah, Palestine

ANOC’s selection of the scholars follows the MOU that ANOC signed with the Division of Global Sport Management Talent Development at Seoul National University in January this year as part of its ongoing commitment to identifying ways to improve the service it offers its NOCs.

Taught by internationally recognised professors, the Dream Together Master Programme provides world-class education for the next generation of sports administrators across a variety of topics including sport humanities, organisation and governance, marketing, the Olympic Movement and international sport development. The Programme specifically targets sports administrators from NOCs and National Federations in countries where sport is less well developed with the aim of providing them with greater knowledge and understanding which they can then later disseminate to a wider audience in their home countries. The Dream Together Master program is funded by the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism and the Korea Foundation for the Next Generation Sports Talent using the national sport promotions funds.

ANOC President Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah said:

"We are delighted to announce the scholars for the Dream Together Programme. Spreading Olympic values-based education is a key element of Olympic Agenda 2020 and supporting the Dream Together Programme is an excellent way for ANOC to support its NOCs in this regard.

"The Programme will provide our scholars with a world-class education in sports administration which will not just benefit them but also their NOCs and National Federations when they return to their countries. I have no doubt that our scholars will enjoy their experience at one of the world’s top universities and leave the course equipped with the tools they need to make a meaningful contribution to the advancement of the sports movement within their countries and beyond."
