(ATR) SportAccord presidential candidate Anna Arzhanova tells Around the Rings she is the right person to lead SportAccord into the future after a year of uncertainty.
Arzhanova spoke with ATR editor Ed Hula in the latest edition of ATRadio about the challenges facing the umbrella organization for International Federations and how it can regain credibility after its last president Marius Vizer was forced to resign following a fallout with the IOC.
The current president of the World Underwater Aquatics Federation (CMAS) says "its important for all international sports federations to be together in this platform and to have the direct participation in all SportAccord activities".
"I would like to improve the relations with the IOC," she says. "We have to work hand in hand with the IOC, for me it's a priority to work together with all sports stakeholders in the world."
Arzhanova is running against International Basketball Federation (FIBA) president Patrick Baumann. The next president will be selected during the SportAccord General Assembly on April 22.
ATR will speak with Baumann on the next edition of ATRadio.
