Doha: AKI, Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) and UGL Limited (UGL) today announced the signing of a joint venture (JV) to provide integrated facilities management and property services in the State of Qatar. The announcement and signing ceremony took place at the ASPIRE4SPORT Sports Congress and Exhibition held at the Aspire Dome in Doha, Qatar.
The JV entity, to be named, Mosanada UGL, will initially focus on providing integrated facilities management services and property services to government and private sector clients in the State of Qatar. The JV is expected to commence operations in Q1 2012.
The Vice Chairman of AKI, Mr. Hilal Al Kuwari, said: "We are delighted to be partnering with the Qatar Olympic Committee and UGL in this joint venture. This agreement further enhances AKI’s position as a leader in facility management across various sectors within Qatar. The combined skills of all shareholders will ensure we deliver the best outcome for Qatar and our clients."
The Secretary General of Qatar Olympic Committee, HE Sheikh Saoud Abdul Rahman Al-Thani, said: "This joint venture will play an important role in supporting Qatar’s 2030 vision of being a global centre of sporting excellence and we look forward to working with AKI and UGL in this venture".
UGL Services’ Executive General Manager, Stuart Carmichael, said: "This joint venture represents a significant opportunity for all joint venture shareholders to create a leading facilities management company that will target Government and private sector projects in the State of Qatar.
